Hi, I'm Janine

In August 2022, after having ongoing migraines and fatigue for over 12 months, I decided to try Bowen Therapy as I often drove past the sign at the local Bowen clinic. I was unsure how Bowen worked but was desperate to feel better and willing to try anything. Within 24 hours of my first session I started to improve and after 48 hours my headache was gone, I had more energy and felt better than I had in months. You can read my full  Bowen Therapy story here

After 4 sessions I knew I was onto something special, a modality that was gentle but effective and worked better than any medication I had tried.

Within 3 months of my first Bowen treatment I decided to become a qualified Bowen Therapy Practitioner.

As I studied and practiced the technique I was constantly surprised at the feedback I received from clients. As an advocate for natural therapies, I aim to help Bowen Therapy become the first choice for people suffering instead of a last resort.

FAQ

What is Bowen Therapy?

The Bowen technique is a series of gentle movements over muscle and connective tissue at specific points on the body. These moves aim to stimulate your autonomic nervous system, endocrine system and fascial network to activate the body's own healing mechanism. Unlike other soft tissue modalities, Bowen Therapy allows for a 2-5 min processing time between sets of moves. This is an essential component of the treatment that allows the body to assimilate the message and allow the nervous system to respond.

Who can have a Bowen Therapy treatment?

Absolutely anyone! As Bowen Therapy is very gentle it can be enjoyed by small babies, the elderly and frail and everyone in between. It can be performed while the client is seated or laying. Bowen Practitioner's are trained to ensure client comfort is achieved. Bowen Therapy is performed over light clothing.

What do Bowen Therapy clients say?

The most common response from clients is surprise at how quickly the treatment helped them achieve a state of relaxation. This is the body responding to the parasympathetic nervous system switching on and activating the state of rest and digest.
